To protect your furniture, we suggest the following:
- Avoid where possible placing your furniture in direct sunlight.
- Arrange your furniture so it is not adjacent to heating or air conditioning outlets
- Do not place furniture directly under a window
- Do not place plastic materials (lamp bases, note books etc) on your furniture, as certain plastics contain ingredients that may react with and damage the finish
- Periodically rotate your accessories (with proper felt or cloth backing) so they do not remain in the same spot for extended periods.
- Lift objects from the top when moving them. Be careful not to let them drag across the finish.
- Protective padding is strongly recommended when using your furniture as a writing surface, especially when using a pencil or ballpoint pen.
- Clean up spills quickly. Water left over a prolonged period of time will cause white spots in the finish and alcohol, perfume, after shave and medicines can cause severe finish damage.
- Dust frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint free cloth. Clean the surface by rubbing the direction across the grain.
- Polish your furniture approximately every six months. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free absorbent, rubbing the polish in the direction of the grain. Do not use polishes with silicone, due to the difficulty of removing residue should repair or refinishing be necessary.
- Always follow the Care Label instructions for fabrics and leather. In time, fabric and leather will develop ‘comfort creases’ which are a normal occurrence and not considered a defect.
